The appropriate material depends on the product, surface, placement, appearance, and intended use. Available finishes may vary by product and project.
Outdoor Vinyl
Outdoor vinyl is used for many custom decals, name decals, number decals, gear labels, storage labels, and tool box labels.
It is generally intended for clean, dry, smooth surfaces such as:
- Helmets and hard cases
- Storage boxes and tool drawers
- Painted metal
- Smooth plastic panels
- Luggage cases
- Smooth outdoor equipment surfaces
Surface condition, installation, exposure, cleaning products, heat, and abrasion can all affect performance.
Gloss Vinyl
Gloss vinyl has a shinier surface that reflects more ambient light.
It is often selected when you want:
- A brighter, more polished appearance
- Stronger-looking color contrast
- A finish that stands out on smooth surfaces
- A more traditional decal appearance
Gloss surfaces may show reflections, fingerprints, or surface imperfections more easily than matte finishes.
Availability depends on the selected product and project.
Matte Vinyl
Matte vinyl has a lower-shine, more subdued appearance.
It is often selected when you want:
- Less glare
- A softer or more understated look
- A finish that blends more naturally with matte gear or panels
- Reduced visible reflections under normal lighting
Matte material is not completely reflection-free, and the final appearance can vary depending on the surface, lighting, color, and installation.
Availability depends on the selected product and project.
Gloss vs. Matte Vinyl
The main difference is visual appearance.
Choose gloss when you prefer a brighter, shinier, more noticeable finish.
Choose matte when you prefer a softer, lower-glare, more understated finish.
Neither finish is automatically better for every project. The best choice depends on the product, surface, surrounding finish, and appearance you want.

Reflective Film
Reflective film returns light toward a light source and can make the material more noticeable in certain low-light conditions.
It may be used for selected helmet decal kits, luggage reflective kits, and other approved accent layouts.
Reflective film:
- Is different from ordinary gloss or matte vinyl
- Changes appearance depending on lighting and viewing angle
- May look more subdued when direct light is not hitting it
- Is intended as an accessory material
It does not replace required lights, reflectors, visibility equipment, protective equipment, or responsible use of gear. It does not guarantee visibility or accident prevention.

Clear Protection Film
Clear protection film is intended for selected tank, frame, luggage-contact, and gear-contact areas.
It may help reduce visible wear caused by routine rubbing or contact on suitable clean, smooth surfaces.
Clear protection film does not guarantee protection against:
- Impacts
- Deep scratches
- Paint chips
- Existing surface damage
- Improper installation
- Every form of abrasion or wear
Surface condition, paint or coating type, placement, preparation, film choice, and installation quality all affect the result.
Gloss or matte protection-film options may be available depending on the project.
Surface Compatibility
Best results generally come from clean, dry, smooth, stable surfaces.
Avoid applying decals or film over:
- Oily or contaminated surfaces
- Dust, rust, or loose coating
- Damaged or peeling paint
- Heavy texture
- Fabric
- Rubberized or silicone surfaces
- Vents
- Visors
- Certification or safety labels
- High-heat areas
Some coatings, plastics, paints, and treated surfaces may not be suitable for adhesive products.

Application and Care
Before installation:
- Clean and dry the surface
- Remove dust, oil, wax, and residue
- Test the position before removing the backing
- Confirm that the surface is smooth and stable
During installation:
- Apply slowly
- Press evenly
- Use a soft card or suitable squeegee when appropriate
- Avoid trapping dust, folds, or air
After installation:
- Allow the adhesive time to settle
- Avoid immediate washing or heavy handling
- Avoid harsh cleaners, strong solvents, excessive heat, and abrasion
Application guidance may vary by product and surface.
Material Limits
No vinyl, label, reflective film, or clear protection film is suitable for every surface or environment.
We do not promise a fixed service life because performance depends on factors including:
- Surface type and condition
- Preparation and installation
- Exposure to weather and sunlight
- Heat and moisture
- Cleaning products
- Abrasion and handling
- Placement and use
